Bushfire Dreaming is a vibrant original artwork by Aboriginal artist Reggie Sultan, capturing the colours, movement and regeneration of Country during the dry season.

Rich layers of red, orange, ochre and white against a black background represent the burning of Country and the new growth that follows. As described by the artist on the reverse, the work tells of people burning Country during the dry season to encourage the renewal of food and plants.

About the Artist

Born in Alice Springs in 1965, Reggie Sultan is an accomplished Aboriginal artist from Central Australia. He began painting from a young age, learning by watching older artists working around the Todd River and Chinaman’s Creek. Since becoming a professional artist in 1985, Reggie has developed a distinctive style depicting Country, culture and stories from Central Australia.
