Kira Djorlom is a talented Aboriginal artist from Oenpelli, a community in Arnhem Land, Northern Territory. Known for her expertise in fibre arts, Kira creates distinctive sculptural pieces inspired by the rich natural environment of West Arnhem Land. Her works often depict native flora and fauna, blending traditional techniques with unique artistic expressions. Kira comes from a lineage of artists, including her mother Leonie Nabegeyo and her aunt, master weaver Doreen Djorlom, who taught her the art of weaving. Her skills and dedication have gained her recognition as a rising star in contemporary Indigenous Australian art.
Kira's work is supported by art centres like Marrawuddi Arts and Culture and Injalak Arts, where her pieces contribute to the promotion and preservation of traditional crafts and culture.
